The Spirit Bear (original drawing)A bear so full of rage he starts a meta physical storm with fire and lightning like storm clouds over an active volcano. As an artist Ive always gotten a sort of therapy and contemplation while working on my art. The loose nature and absence of patterns made this piece no exception. It might appear I was trying to release some aggression but it actually was a very relaxing and therapeutic experience. My originals are hand drawn graphite on smooth

My goal was to use visual patterns to represent patterns in the life of a sea turtle

I really like the texture of the flamingo that I came up with and what better way to add a pattern than to add a flamingo wallpaper as the background

So I decided to do a little art therapy and draw a flamingo in my style of drawing

They are also known as paper nautiluses and are found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world

And at the time I had just drawn a few flamingos for my day job and had flamingos on the brain

The elephants skin was inspired a a type of sea coral and I added the fire to add a sense of luck that is smoldering under the surface almost unattainable

I had this idea while I was working on my sugar skull drawing

And skulls of course

This myth gave me the idea for for this piece

I think it gives it an appropriately frenetic feel

This piece was about texture and movement for me

This giraffe piece was a lot of fun to draw
